Hi! I'd like to introduce myself...
I am Miss Hervey and these are my furry babies,
Macy and LuLu.
I have wanted to become a teacher for as long as I can remember! I had some fantastic teachers growing up and was especially inspired by my own 3rd grade teacher! I am currently in my 11th year of teaching at JBE and love the school even more than when I started because of our Global Leadership focus!
I am constantly searching for ways to connect with my students to help make my teaching more meaningful, as well as to engage them in their learning. I love going to conferences to learn about new research and best practices. After my first few years of teaching I began working on my Master's through a cohort program from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. I completed my degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Focus on Literacy in 2008. Just last year I acquired my National Board Certification for Teachers of Professional Teaching Standards.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Massachusetts but moved to South Carolina in 2002. In my spare time I love to play with my dogs, go to the movies, and spend time with my nieces.
